Runaway Surf, "Surfer", was a 16-year-old Quarter Horse gelding who did it all. His pedigree is full of great horses such as Dash For Cash, Ocean Runaway, First Down Dash, and Rocket Wrangler. Surfer is a jack-of-all-trades. He competed as a 2D barrel horse, used as a head horse for roping, 4H mount, and as a mount for his young family.

Surfer was a gentle giant. He loved to take care of the weanlings; he would protect them, guide them, and teach them how to be good horses. He always did his own thing in the pasture. He wasn't one to follow the group, and often took a few of the youngsters with him, ranging far off for the best blades of grass.

Surfer was well loved by many people and he spent the last few years of his life being spoiled by kids and adults alike. He deserved nothing less after a lifetime of service to humans.
