Rain is being offered for sale to a good home, preferably a long term home. She really is an exceptional animal. Rain is literally the "grandpa horse". Steeve trusted her enough to pack his 79-year-old father around the ranch during his visit in the spring of 2023. Rain has also packed into the Willmore and has been ridden in the Ya-Ha Tinda. She's crossed rivers, bridges, been around gunfire and dogs, wildlife, vehicles, arena's, I'm sure much more.
Rain gave us a great colt in the spring of 2022 by LL's Canadian Red. She was rebred in the spring of 2023 to LL's Canadian Red Rascal (a full brother to LL's Canadian Red). Rain was confirmed in foal in August of 2023.
This is a two-for-one deal, unless the buyer chooses to wait until her foal is weaned in the fall of 2024. Either way, the price remains the same.
Rain boasts many greats on her pedigree like Dude's Ragtime Man, a Alberta stallion who sired many amazing offspring. Rain's gait is what we breed for, she has a big, smooth walk. She can canter but because of her big run walk, it is harder for her to get into a canter.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a direct daughter of Dude's Ragtime Man, not to mention one that is so sweet, trusting, quiet and experienced.
She doesn't really neck rein and she drives like a boat (not really built for sharp turns) but she's a great point and go type of mare that can ride in the front, middle or back. She will move off your leg, but also nothing she does is quick and snappy. She is not inclined to be speedy, but she will go if you ask her too. Definitely a very quiet mare. Easy to catch, load and handle. She is a fantastic mother who trusts her people with her babies.
